Undoubtably, you have heard the old adage “you are what you eat”, often attributed to Hippocrates, though the way he actually said it was “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”. Invariably, you have also heard of the “mind-body connection”. Together, these help to explain the basis of BBX Nutrition.

The truth is, there is no “quick fix” for health. To be frank, diets don’t work, and a juice cleanse (or other such detox regimen) will not provide the long-term benefits you need. Instead, we will guide your healing through lifestyle changes while nourishing the body, mind, and spirit.

While supplementation may be absolutely necessary for a period of time to help replenish your body’s nutrient stores, we will work together to identify and implement natural sources of nutrients that work for your preferences and lifestyle.

BBX Nutrition is a weight-neutral practice. Instead of focusing on weight, we focus on counseling, educating, and supporting our clients.

Our bodies are incredible vessels, constantly working to maintain internal balance regardless of how we treat them. But how we actually feel, both physically and mentally, is attributable to what we fuel them with, as well as inputs from both internal and exogenous factors.

We offer realistic* support, personalized to your needs, with a focus on healthy outcomes and behaviors to help support the life you want.


*What do I mean by realistic?

 

· I won’t expect you to give up your favorite treats. Unless medically necessary, we don’t restrict foods.

Instead, we work to expand your selection.

· I won’t force you to eat foods you hate, even if they provide superior health benefits.

Instead, we’ll work together to identify other foods with similar benefits.

· I won’t expect you to devote endless hours per week on meal prep and cooking.

Instead, we’ll figure out time-saving strategies that work with your schedule.

· I won’t expect you to buy all organic foods from a health food store.  

Instead, we’ll determine what works best for your budget.

· I won’t expect you to drink 3 gallons of water a day.

Instead, we’ll set realistic goals and incorporate other ways for you to be properly hydrated.

· Remember, there is no such thing as a “quick fix”. Instead, we will work together to create realistic, long term-lifestyle changes that work for YOU.
